Walmart crushes it with another budget-friendly RTX 5050 gaming laptop

Even Walmart cares about gaming. Right now, the retailer is running a limited-time Nvidia GeForce Gaming Sale with discounts on budget gaming laptops. The sale is coming to a close this weekend, but you can still get fairly new gaming laptops like the Acer Nitro V 16 with an RTX 5050 for $699 (was $899).

This Acer Nitro V is the most recent model with new processors and features that make it more AI-friendly and efficient than its predecessors. As a budget gaming laptop, it still gets hot and doesn’t quite reach the max graphics capabilities that other competitors can, but it’s worth it at this price point if you want to play less demanding games in mid-to-low quality.

Today’s best budget gaming laptop deal

Besides the RTX 5050 from Nvidia’s latest GPU series, it comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 240 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. That’s more than enough to run the latest AAA games on modest settings, though you may need to regularly clear your storage to fit new titles in your library.

We haven’t tested the Nitro V with the Ryzen 5 240, but it shares many similarities with the Intel Core i5 model in our Acer Nitro V review. Our reviewer praised the value for the price with reliable 1080p performance and a “vibrant and bright display.” We tested the Nitro V 15 and not the V 16 like in this Walmart listing, but the bigger the better, right?

As part of GeForce Week, we also highlighted the affordable HP Victus 16. We also expect more of our best budget gaming laptops to go on sale the further we get into the year.
