Apple has very publicly been against touchscreen computers. It all started in 2020 when Steve Jobs publicly declared that there would never be a touchscreen Mac.
He argued that the ergonomics were terrible. The sentiment was later echoed by Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering in 2018.
