There apparently won’t be a Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge – and you might not be able to get the S25 Edge for much longer either

  • Samsung reportedly won’t release the Galaxy S26 Edge due to poor sales of the S25 Edge
  • There might be a Galaxy S26 Plus instead, but there’s not much time for Samsung to develop one
  • The company is also said to be discontinuing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

We’ve heard rumblings for a while that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge might not be selling brilliantly, but the situation might be even worse than we thought, as Samsung is reportedly discontinuing the entire line.

This is according to a report on News Pim (via @Jukanlosreve), which states that Samsung has decided not to release the Galaxy S26 Edge, and will instead sell a Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26 (which might be called the S26 Pro) and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Additionally, Samsung apparently won’t make any more Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge units, so once the current stock sells out, it might be impossible to buy.

A credible claim

Of course, we’d take all of this with a pinch of salt, but it seems believable, especially as the site claims to have spoken to a Samsung official, who said “I don’t know if the slim line will come back, but it doesn’t look easy at the moment,” adding, “I think you can consider it to have essentially disappeared.”

It’s also not especially surprising to hear that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge isn’t selling well. After all, it’s in some ways a worse phone than the standard Samsung Galaxy S25 – with a smaller battery and fewer cameras – yet it costs more, all essentially because it’s 1.4mm thinner.

Apple’s somewhat similar iPhone Air also reportedly isn’t selling brilliantly, so it seems there just isn’t much of a market for super-slim phones. At least not when it means compromising other specs while increasing prices.

Still, Samsung has reportedly finished developing the Galaxy S26 Edge, and probably doesn’t have much time to replace it with a Galaxy S26 Plus, since the S26 line is expected to land early next year.

So, we still wouldn’t completely rule out a launch for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge, and if it really has been canceled, then we also wouldn’t be surprised if we only see two phones in the S26 line, despite claims here that a Plus model is now planned.
