Playing from the UK I was uncertain about the terminology for sending a check in the mail, but it all made sense in the end.
Ironically, considering this was a search all about financial terminology, “chase” was the first non-game word I found, along with a few others to give me a leg up with a hint.
Getting MEMO didn’t help much, but I spotted CHECKLIST next – which helped reveal SIGNATURE; it’s always a shock when you realize that such a long word has been hiding in plain sight.

What is NYT Strands?
Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-any-more word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a fully fledged member of the NYT’s games stable that has been running for a year and which can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
