The latest Samsung Galaxy S26 leak hints at an even slimmer phone – and a wireless charging upgrade

  • A fresh Samsung Galaxy S26 leak has emerged
  • The outline drawing reveals the back casing and its features
  • A thickness of 6.9 mm is mentioned in the leak

There’s a fresh leak of the Samsung Galaxy S26 to talk about, and it looks as though the standard model of the 2026 flagship series is going to be slimmer than its predecessor – and pack in a wireless charging upgrade too.

The leak comes from the usually reliable @UniverseIce, and shows an outline rendering of the Galaxy S26. The phone is expected to succeed the Samsung Galaxy S25 sometime in the first few months of next year.

According to this unverified information, the Galaxy S26 is going to measure 6.9 mm front to back. That beats the 7.2 mm thickness of the Samsung Galaxy S25, though as yet we don’t know the other dimensions of the upcoming handset.

Samsung has been making its phones thinner and thinner in recent times. Earlier this year we saw the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which is a mere 5.8 mm thick (though not quite as thin as the 5.6 mm iPhone Air).

Wireless charging

The most notable feature on this rendering is the Qi2 charging coil, suggesting that Samsung’s next smartphones will support full Qi2 wireless charging – much like the Google Pixel 10 phones (where the feature is called Pixelsnap).

Previous Samsung phones have been Qi2-ready, which means you need a case for the full Qi2 experience – specifically, wireless chargers that snap magnetically to the back of your handset, much like the MagSafe technology on the best iPhones.

We can also see three rear cameras on the back of the Galaxy S26, though as yet it’s not clear what the specs of these cameras might be. A vertical pill design will apparently be deployed, similar to the one on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.

While the Galaxy S25 phones made their debut in January 2025, all the indications are that next year’s equivalents won’t appear until February or March. One report out of South Korea has suggested that the launch event could be held on Wednesday, February 25.
