Scotland vs Denmark free streams: How to watch World Cup 2026 qualifier

Scotland face Denmark in a straight shootout for World Cup qualification tonight, one that’s only come about because both teams are creaking under the weight of expectation. At 3-0 down to Greece on Saturday, the Scots had resigned themselves to the lottery of the playoffs – only for the Danes to be held to a 2-2 draw by a hitherto pointless, 103-ranked Belarus.

It was only a month ago, remember, that Steve Clarke’s men thrashed Greece 3-1 and Denmark hammered Belarus 6-0. But pressure can do strange things to teams, and having last participated in a World Cup 27 years ago, the Tartan Army are shouldering more than most.

For the Red and Whites, an outbreak of sickness has become the more pressing concern, with Joachim Andersen and Rasmus Hojlund being hit hardest over the weekend. Before anybody cries conspiracy, the bug appears to have struck in Copenhagen, ahead of the aforementioned Belarus fiasco. Both players have, however, recovered sufficiently enough to start.

A draw would be good enough for Brian Riemer’s men, as they’re a point better-off than their opponents at the top of Group C, which puts the onus firmly on Scotland. Even between frantic dashes to and from Hampden Park’s facilities, it isn’t difficult to imagine Hojlund giving John Souttar and Grant Hanley the runaround, while strikers Che Adams and Lyndon Dykes have made an art-form out of squandering chances.

However, with Billy Gilmour still out with an adductor injury, and therefore unable to shield Souttar and Hanley, Clarke has switched out the latter for Scott McKenna. Mikkel Damsgaard will carve out opportunities for Denmark. Will Scotland be solid enough at the back to allow Scott McTominay to bomb on in support of Ryan Christie and John McGinn?
