France vs Australia free streams: How to watch Autumn International 2025

Joe Schmidt’s reputation is on the line for Australia’s 2025 Autumn Internationals-closing clash with France in Paris. After barely scraping past Japan, they’ve lost three in a row in Europe – it’s been 67 years since the Wallabies last suffered a four-game European whitewash. Recent evidence, however, suggest that France aren’t what they used to be.

Schmidt, who’ll step aside for Queensland Reds coach Les Kiss next year, looked like he’d made serious ground at the 2025 Rugby Championship, but over the past few weeks the Wallabies have been atrocious. Their latest defeat, a record 46-19 pummeling at the hands of Ireland, saw them botch six of their own lineouts, four inside Ireland’s 22-yard line, and continue to wilt under the high ball.

These are fundamentals of the game, and James O’Connor has paid the price for the general sense of haplessness. Carter Gordon starts at fly-half at Stade de France, with Kalani Thomas and Tane Edmed amongst the replacements. Despite their horrendous form – they’ve now lost six of their past seven Tests – those victories over the Lions, South Africa and Argentina stick in the memory.

Those can’t have been collective hallucinations.

France can’t get Antoine Dupont back quickly enough. The 34-21 victory over Fiji last weekend snapped a four-game losing streak, but it was far from convincing, with Les Bleus only managing to pull away in the last 10 minutes. Not the response Fabien Galthie had craved in the aftermath of the harrowing 17-32 defeat by the shorthanded Springboks.

Gael Fickou is back in the starting lineup after being rested last weekend, replacing the concussed Pierre-Louis Barassi. 20-year-old center Kalvin Gourgues could make his Test debut off the bench.
