  • New images and videos of the upcoming drone have leaked
  • The camera system is rumored to be getting an upgrade
  • We could see the drone officially unveiled sometime next week

All the indications are that the DJI Mini 5 Pro will be officially unveiled next week, but in the meantime the leaks are continuing – and new images and unboxing videos have found their way on to the web.

The various leaks have been gathered together by Notebookcheck, but the most interesting sneak previews – the unboxing videos – seem to have been set public accidentally, and are now set to private.

That suggests these videos were being prepped to go live when the drone was made official by DJI. Tipsters have predicted the official launch could be as early as tomorrow, or perhaps a day or two after.

Some of the image leaks here come from European retailers, suggesting that store shelves are now being stocked with the DJI Mini 5 Pro. The drone is expected to come in a variety of different bundle options, and these have previously leaked too.

Pricing and design

Among the leaks are high-quality pictures of the drone and its accessories from tipster @MauroTandoi. The design matches what we’ve been seeing from earlier leaks, so it’s pretty much confirmed at this point.

As for pricing, a figure of around €799 (which converts to roughly $940 / £690 / AU$1,410) has been suggested. The DJI Mini 4 Pro went on sale for the same price in Europe when it launched in September 2023, and $759 / £689 / AU$1,119 internationally.

When it comes to upgrades, the leaks that have surfaced so far have pointed towards improvements in both video quality and flight time – two of the key specs for any drone, so we have high hopes for what DJI has been working on.

It doesn’t look as though much will change in terms of design, but a larger camera module and two forward-facing LiDAR sensors have been spotted. Of course as soon as DJI makes any of this official, we’ll let you know.
