The Google Pixel 9 is still a great buy for 2025 – especially when it’s just $599

Looking for a flagship device but don’t want to fork out major cash? One of the best options you’ll find right now is Best Buy’s deal on the slightly older (but still great) Google Pixel 9.

Right now, you can get this device for just $699 (was $799) at the retailer, with the option to get a further $100 rebate when you activate the device on an eligible carrier.

At $599, you’re getting a whole lot of phone for the money here. While the Pixel 9 has officially been superseded by the brand-new Pixel 10 now, it features an almost identical design, a host of AI features, and a great camera setup that can still challenge the best 2025 devices on the market right now.

Note that you can supplement your savings even further this week with Best Buy’s excellent trade-in program. This is a particularly good option since, unlike most carrier deals, it’s available on unlocked devices specifically. That not only secures you a discount but also affords plenty of freedom when it comes to picking and choosing a carrier.

The latest Google Pixel 10 range brought a few notable upgrades, including a new chipset, an additional telephoto lens, and a bigger battery, but the Pixel 9 is still a great buy for 2025. Outwardly, the devices share an almost identical design, and the Pixel 9 is still capable of powering through most daily tasks well enough.

Considering Google has committed to another six years of service updates for the Pixel 9, it’s also a safe buy in terms of software. The Pixel 9 was the first generation to put a real focus on AI features like better voice recording and text summaries, and these are only improving as time passes. However, a number of higher-end features are annoyingly locked behind the Google One AI Premium plan ($18/mo extra).
