The Amazon HD Fire 8 is about as simple as you can get with a tablet. However, if all you want to do is browse the web, shop online, play casual games, and so on, then it’s enough to achieve that. It’s a fine choice for folks who just need a large portable screen for taking notes, too.
The Amazon HD Fire 8 has since been replaced by the Amazon HD Fire 10 in our best budget tablets, but it upgrades so little that I wouldn’t urge you to pick it up unless you want the larger screen. If you have the budget (or curiosity), I would recommend looking into our best overall tablets or best Android tablets.
