Sticker Suggestions Coming Soon To WhatsApp Chats

WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature designed to make conversations more efficient by suggesting stickers while users type messages. The feature aims to streamline the process of finding and sending stickers, eliminating the need to manually open the sticker keyboard.

When a user begins typing, recommended stickers appear next to the emoji suggestions at the top of the keyboard. Tapping one of these suggestions automatically sends the sticker to the selected contact, speeding up interactions and reducing the number of steps typically required.

To make these recommendations accurate, WhatsApp relies on a system that links specific emojis to corresponding stickers. All sticker packs downloaded from the official WhatsApp store already support this association. However, custom stickers created by users must also have an emoji assigned; otherwise, they will not appear in the suggestion list. This requirement ensures that the app can correctly identify the context of the message and match it to an appropriate sticker.

The introduction of this feature aligns with WhatsApp’s broader strategy to add more practical and intelligent tools aimed at enhancing user experience. Recent beta updates suggest the platform is increasingly focusing on features that improve convenience and reduce the number of manual steps required during conversations.

Although the new sticker suggestion function is enabled by default, users who prefer not to receive such prompts can easily disable it. The setting can be found under Settings > Chats > Sticker Suggestions, where the option can be turned off at any time.

At the moment, this update is available only to beta testers on Android, allowing WhatsApp to gather feedback and make adjustments before expanding the rollout. Based on past feature releases, the wider deployment of the stable version is expected soon, provided the testing phase proceeds without significant issues.
